Virtual InfoSec Africa renews partnership with Cyber Security Authority

Virtual InfoSec Africa has renewed its collaboration with the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) to enhance cybersecurity awareness and promote safer digital practices among businesses and the general public. This partnership is a key component of the ongoing Cyber Security Awareness Month activities, which come at a crucial time when businesses and individuals are increasingly relying on digital platforms for various activities.

Norvisi Addo, the Head of Security Operations at Virtual InfoSec Africa, emphasized that heightened digital dependence necessitates public education as a vital aspect of safeguarding digital systems. He highlighted that while organizations invest in technological defenses, human behavior plays a critical role in averting cyber threats.

Addo stressed that cybersecurity solutions are most effective when combined with user education, as the weakest link in cybersecurity is often people. He further explained that the company’s involvement in the annual awareness campaign is a reflection of its commitment to corporate social responsibility, aiming to contribute to national endeavors to establish a secure digital environment.

Addo noted a growing trend of businesses incorporating cybersecurity messages into their public communication, attributing this to increased awareness. Virtual InfoSec Africa is prepared to continue supporting the CSA’s public education initiatives and promoting responsible digital behavior. The CSA expressed gratitude for the renewed partnership, acknowledging that private-sector involvement is crucial in expanding cybersecurity awareness and capacity building nationwide.

Benjamin Avornyotse, the Head of Corporate Affairs at the CSA, emphasized that cybersecurity awareness should focus on prevention, urging people to understand what actions to avoid rather than reacting to incidents. He highlighted that partnerships with private-sector organizations enable the Authority to reach more people, particularly as daily activities increasingly shift online.

Avornyotse stressed the importance of vigilance when using digital platforms and urged businesses and individuals to adopt cybersecurity precautions seriously. Both organizations stress that continued awareness creation, responsible digital behavior, and investment in cybersecurity are essential to safeguarding Ghana’s expanding digital economy.
