Twosome Place to enter U.S. market in Oct. for 'next phase of growth'

South Korean coffee chain Twosome Place announced plans to enter the U.S. market in October, marking its first overseas expansion. The company will open its first store in Alexandria, Virginia, and intends to establish additional locations in the DMV area, comprising Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Twosome Place aims to become a major brand in the United States, leveraging its 25 years of experience in South Korea's food and beverage industry.

CEO Moon Young-ju stated that the U.S. will serve as the initial stage in Twosome Place's global growth. The company will infuse its expertise in coffee-and-dessert pairings with Korean flavors and local U.S. consumer preferences to cater to the market. Established in 2002, Twosome Place currently operates 1,750 outlets in South Korea and is wholly owned by investment firm Carlyle Group.
