TOR and GOIL explore further strategic collaboration

The Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) have engaged in discussions to explore additional avenues for collaboration in the supply and off-take of petroleum products produced by the refinery. This strategic meeting, held on September 2, 2026, aimed to strengthen their cooperative relationship within Ghana's downstream petroleum sector.

TOR's Managing Director, Edmond Kombat, briefed GOIL's Managing Director and his team on the refinery's recent strides in ramping up operations, specifically highlighting the smooth execution of restart and supply processes. Kombat emphasized the refinery's renewed focus on operational discipline as it continues its transformation and optimization journey.

GOIL, a significant off-take partner for TOR, plays a crucial role in supporting the refinery's mission to increase the supply of petroleum products to the Ghanaian market. The meeting also offered an opportunity for the two entities to identify further areas of cooperation, with discussions centered on bolstering their strategic partnership to enhance supply security and market resilience.

This collaboration is anticipated to contribute to price stability at the pump and foster a more efficient and reliable downstream petroleum sector.
