Telangana tribal man killed in landmine blast on Karreguttalu hillocks: Police

Three individuals were killed in armed robbery incidents that occurred in the Northern Region of Ghana over a four-day span. Police have intensified security measures along busy roads and known hotspots following the attacks. The first incident took place on August 29, near Zagbeli, a short distance from Saboba on the Chereponi-Yendi road.

Four armed men targeted three people riding a motorbike, fatally shooting one male adult before stealing three mobile phones and about 100 Ghanaian cedis. The second incident occurred on August 31 around the UDS Junction on the Tamale-Kumasi Highway. Armed men attacked several motorists at the location, ultimately stealing about seven hundred thousand Ghanaian cedis, a motorbike, and an iPhone.

The most recent attack happened on September 1 around Kpligini Forest on the Tamale-Yendi Highway. Suspects opened fire on a passenger Sprinter Benz bus, killing two passengers—a man and a woman—before fleeing the scene with an unknown amount of cash. The Northern Regional Police Command is investigating all three incidents and has increased patrols and security operations in the affected areas.

They urge witnesses and those with relevant information to come forward and remain anonymous. Authorities also advise individuals and businesses to avoid carrying large sums of cash and to consider using mobile money or other secure payment methods. Northern Regional Police Commander DCOP Wisdom Lavoe pledged to work with communities and other security forces to apprehend the suspects and bring them to justice.
