Survey shows strong support in Saskatchewan for social media restrictions for kids

REGINA - Saskatchewan officials have revealed that a majority of respondents to a recent survey back restrictions on kids accessing social media before the age of 16. The government claims that an impressive 86 per cent of the more than 26,000 participants favor such limits. While 14 per cent of respondents did not support a complete ban, the majority of these individuals, about two-thirds, expressed support for implementing parental consent measures.

Health and addictions minister Lori Carr emphasized that the survey results clearly demonstrate widespread support for restrictions, which have been shared with the federal government.
