Stowers homers and has an RBI single, Marlins rally to beat the Royals 9-6

On Wednesday night at Kansas City's ballpark, the Miami Marlins staged a dramatic rally to defeat the Kansas City Royals 9-6. Kyle Stowers led the charge with a home run and a crucial RBI single, while Heriberto Hernández added two more RBIs to fuel the Marlins' comeback. Stowers drove in a run during the first inning, putting the Marlins ahead 2-0 against the Royals. The home run was Stowers' 18th of the season, solidifying his position as a key player for the Marlins.

In the third inning, Hernández contributed significantly to the rally with a double that drove in two runs, including a dramatic one off the center-field wall. This three-run frame extended the Marlins' lead to 7-6. Cade Gibson had a strong outing on the mound, striking out the only batter he faced and ending the Royals' scoring threat in the fifth inning. Calvin Faucher then secured the victory with his third save over the final 4 1/3 innings, as the Marlins' relievers held the Royals scoreless.

Throughout the game, Hernández extended his on-base streak to 19 games, while Otto Lopez extended his hitting streak to nine games and on-base streak to 16 with a first-inning RBI triple. Javier Sanoja and Jakob Marsee added to the Marlins' offensive display with back-to-back homers in the ninth inning. Jared Serna made his major league debut, batting eighth and recording his first career hit with a tying sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.

With his father, former Marlin and Royals player Jeff Conine, in attendance, Griffin Conine contributed with two hits, including a pinch-hit single in the sixth inning that helped set up the Marlins' rally. The Marlins' victory was bolstered by Carter Jensen's leadoff homer in the first inning, which set a franchise record for leadoff home runs before he added another solo shot in the fourth inning, extending his hitting streak to 21 RBI.
