Rangers sign striker Kelsy and winger Bouanani

Rangers have signed Venezuela striker Kevin Kelsy from Portland Timbers on an undisclosed fee and secured Algerian winger Badredine Bouanani on a season-long loan from Stuttgart. These signings bring their total summer additions at Ibrox to 14, closing the Scottish transfer window on Thursday.

22-year-old Kelsy, who has signed a four-year contract with the option of an extra year, joins Rangers after leaving Portland Timbers. The left-footed forward made 16 appearances for Portland this season, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists. Kelsy played 63 times overall, netting 19 goals and registering five assists. Prior to his time in MLS, Kelsy played for Mineros de Guayana, Boston River in Uruguay, and Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine, where he scored nine goals in 37 appearances.

Bouanani, 21, joined Stuttgart from Nice last year for £13m. However, he only started nine games and made 13 substitute appearances last season. The young winger previously played for Lille and Nice, and represented France at youth level before switching allegiance to Algeria in 2023.
