Rangers buy Portland's Kelsy and take Stuttgart's Bouanani on loan

Rangers have made two significant additions to their summer squad, bringing the total of new signings to 14. Firstly, they have purchased Venezuela striker Kevin Kelsy from Portland Timbers for an undisclosed fee. Kelsy, who has signed a four-year contract with the option of a further year, joins a team that currently sits 11th in the Western Conference.

The 22-year-old has made 16 appearances this season, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists. Prior to joining Portland, Kelsy had a successful four-year stint at Shakhtar Donetsk, where he scored nine goals in 37 appearances.

Secondly, Rangers have taken Algerian winger Badredine Bouanani on a season-long loan from Stuttgart. The 21-year-old signed with Stuttgart from Nice over a year ago for £13 million, but made only nine starts and 13 substitute appearances last season. Despite not featuring this season, Bouanani has previous experience with Lille and Nice, having played for France at youth level before switching allegiances to Algeria in 2023.
