Racist abuse of new signing Vaz abhorrent - Hull

Hull City owner Acun Ilicali discussed the club's 18-signing summer transfer strategy during an interview on BBC Radio Humberside. His primary goal was to secure a player who could excite the fans, a motto he implemented successfully last year, resulting in promotion. Ilicali aimed for a balanced approach this season, preferring to strengthen two areas instead of making one exceptionally strong to avoid potential mistakes.

The Union Berlin striker Ilyas Ansah was one of the signings, committing to a five-year contract with the club. Midfielder Tim Iroegbunam also joined Hull permanently from Everton, while defender Brooke Norton-Cuffy arrived on a five-year deal from Genoa. Cody Drameh, on the other hand, moved in the opposite direction. Roma forward Robinio Vaz joined on a season-long loan with Hull retaining an option to purchase the player at the end of the season.

Sorba Thomas from Stoke City and Greek midfielder Christos Mouzakitis from Olympiacos were both signed for £7m. There was also movement out of the club with forward Liam Millar joining Birmingham City on a season-long loan. The summer saw Hull City complete 18 signings in total.
