PAS setuju PRU awal, rakyat letih dengan kemelut politik, kata Tuan Ibrahim

PAS has agreed to hold the early general election, with Vice President Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man stating that the mandate needs to be returned to the people to allow them to make a choice, especially when the political situation in the country is uncertain. He believes that holding the election earlier can help break the deadlock and reduce the costs for the Election Commission (SPR).

Tuan Ibrahim added that an extended period of politics can cause fatigue among the people, as they are constantly preoccupied with political issues and cannot focus on other matters. He noted that a year has passed with such a situation, and the people have become weary.

Regarding the cooperation between PAS and Umno in the upcoming Malacca by-election, Tuan Ibrahim emphasized that the matter is left to the joint committee of both parties, hoping that discussions will resolve the issue of constituency distribution and prevent further fragmentation. He expressed PAS's respect for Pemuda PAS's wish for the winning party's candidates to retain their seats, but he stressed that dialogue with cooperation partners remains open to minimize fragmentation.

Tuan Ibrahim stated that PAS honors the principle of awarding seats to the winning party, as it is a fundamental principle. In cases where cooperation is possible, they agree on fundamental matters such as awarding seats to the winning party. He highlighted that during PRU14, they used a similar format, where the victorious party's candidates retained their seats.

However, in Malacca and other states, such as Terengganu, Kedah, and Perlis, Umno did not win any seats. Therefore, in similar states, Tuan Ibrahim believes alternative methods should be explored.

The main goal is to reach an agreement among all parties, as cooperation is crucial for the future of the nation. Tuan Ibrahim clarified that this unification is not exclusive to Malays but involves all stakeholders. He emphasized that unification is for our nation and its future, not just for Malays, but for the broader context of Malaysian politics, which primarily consists of the majority Malay population.
