PAS perlu memimpin penyatuan, bukan lagi pak turut, kata wakil Terengganu

A Terengganu Youth PAS representative has urged the party to take the lead in unity efforts, rather than merely being a supportive partner. Mukhlis Hasin, a Youth PAS member from Terengganu, emphasized that the party should not be seen as merely "pak turut" (supporting) in the pursuit of national unity and cooperation with other political parties.

He cautioned that any unity and cooperation aimed at achieving a goal should not compromise the principles of the struggle PAS fights for. "If we are the ones leading, we should not be merely 'pak turut' in this unity. We must never be complacent about defending our own identity," he warned, while addressing the Ucaptama Ketua Pemuda PAS at the 67th Youth PAS Muktamar.

He noted that the greatest challenge lies not just in uniting the grassroots members, but ensuring the leadership is ready to work towards the desired unity. He added that PAS Terengganu would support the party's decision on allocating seats based on the party's leadership, should such cooperation with the Barisan Nasional (BN) and Umno occur.

He also stated that PAS Terengganu would support the party's decision regarding candidates and political unity, including if it involves a change in the electoral landscape. "Basing from Besut to Kemaman, we will strive to realize this unity and we will win for whoever is chosen by PAS," he concluded.
