Miami-Dade Sheriff and Commissioner Slam City's Proposed GTA 6 Takeover for 'Promoting Fictional Version of Our Community Defined by Crime and Violence'

They argue that this promotion glorifies crime and undermines the work of law enforcement in the community. Grand Theft Auto 6 is set in Vice City, a fictional replica of Miami, Florida, and features various criminal activities such as murder, robbery, drug trafficking, and violence against law enforcement.

The officials believe that promoting such a fictionalized version of their city would send the wrong message during a time when law enforcement is focused on reducing violent crime and building stronger relationships with the community. They also expressed concern that the city's reputation for tourism and business could be damaged if it is rebranded as Vice City.
