Mechanic injured after gunmen open fire at workshop

In a tragic incident at a car workshop in Bintulu, a 43-year-old mechanic sustained injury to his right palm when he was shot at by two men yesterday afternoon. According to reports, at least three shots were fired at the victim during the incident, which occurred around 1:45 pm. The attacker approached the victim on a motorcycle while he was at the workshop before they opened fire. The victim then fled approximately 50 meters from the workshop and leaped over a fence adjacent to a Chinese cemetery to evade capture.

The victim has since reported the incident to the Kulim police station in Kedah and has been taken to the hospital for treatment. The police are now investigating the motive behind the shooting and have stated that the victim has a prior criminal record. Following the discovery of bullets and spent cartridges at the scene, police and forensic personnel have been actively gathering evidence.

Penang's chief police officer, Datuk Dennis Lim Kwang Keng, confirmed the occurrence of the incident and stated that efforts are underway to track down the suspects. The case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code, which pertains to attempted murder.
