Lahore to Start Issuing Kite Manufacturing Licenses Next Week

Lahore is preparing to launch a licensing system for kite manufacturers in the upcoming week, as the city gears up for Basant 2027 festivities. This announcement came about during a meeting led by Punjab Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, who heard a briefing from Lahore's Deputy Commissioner on the festival's preparations. Aurangzeb announced that the district administration has finalized the groundwork for the Basant Portal, which will go live next week.

Initially, the portal will focus on accepting applications from kite producers. However, the production of kites will only commence after the necessary licenses have been granted. The licensing procedure will encompass kite sellers and string manufacturers, aiming to guarantee the consistent supply of strings during the festival.

Aurangzeb will reveal the exact launch date of the Basant Portal and the starting date for kite manufacturing.
