Khartiia Assault troops liberate another 4 square kilometers in Kupiansk district

Ukrainian forces, part of the Khartiia Corps, have advanced and claimed control over an additional 4 square kilometers (1.5 square miles) of land in the Kupiansk region of northeastern Kharkiv. On Thursday, the Khartiia Corps reported that soldiers from the 23rd Assault Regiment R.U.G., part of the 2nd Khartiia Corps, pushed forward between Dvorichna and Zapadne settlements.

This operation was not undertaken alone; the regiment collaborated with the 35th Separate Marine Brigade. The latest gains bring the regiment's total liberated territory in this sector to 13.5 square kilometers (5.2 square miles). Prior to this, the unit had secured 9.5 square kilometers (3.6 square miles) in the region. Footage from the operation, captured via drones and helmet cameras, shows Ukrainian soldiers moving through the area and neutralizing Russian positions.

However, Kyiv Post is unable to independently verify these battlefield claims. Kupyansk, a key railway hub in the Kharkiv region, has seen intense combat between Ukrainian and Russian forces. The 23rd Assault Regiment R.U.G. is part of the National Guard's 2nd Khartiia Corps, consisting of Ukrainian and foreign troops specializing in assault operations, aerial reconnaissance, and the use of drones and unmanned ground vehicles.

Khartiia has been defending the Kharkiv region since 2022, with the 23rd Assault Regiment having previously participated in operations to liberate territory north of Kupyansk and to clear the city itself. The regiment continues its combat operations in the Kupyansk sector.
