Kaltura partners with Verimatrix for OTT content protection

Kaltura and Verimatrix have formed a strategic partnership to enhance content protection for over-the-top and Cloud TV services. The alliance combines Kaltura's Cloud TV platform with Verimatrix's Digital Rights Management and security features. This joint solution will be integrated into Kaltura's Marketplace, targeting telecom companies, broadcasters, and media organizations aiming to deliver high-quality live and on-demand content on various devices and operating systems.

The companies plan to migrate customers to the integrated solution in the coming months. The partnership offers multi-DRM protection for premium video content, secure delivery across connected TVs, set-top boxes, mobile devices, and web applications, effectively combating piracy, credential sharing, and unauthorized access. Oren Ben Kohav, SVP Sales and Delivery Media & Telecom at Kaltura, stated that as demand for premium streaming increases, customers require security solutions that can scale with them.

Carlo Stramaglia, Head of Anti-Piracy Business at Verimatrix, emphasized that the partnership integrates content protection and anti-piracy technology into Cloud TV workflows to safeguard content and subscriber revenue. Kaltura will exhibit the integrated security solution at IBC 2026, which takes place from September 11-14 at booth 5.A68, while Verimatrix will be present at booth 1.BS20.

Kaltura offers digital experience platforms for businesses, educational institutions, and media companies, while Verimatrix specializes in security solutions for content protection and streaming services.
