Jordan unveils 'Farah', region's first AI-powered government spokesperson

Jordan has unveiled Farah, the nation's inaugural AI-powered government spokesperson, to disseminate official information and decisions through digital channels. The Jordanian government has unveiled a virtual character, named Farah, as the country's first digital spokesperson. The groundbreaking initiative intends to bolster official communication channels and provide citizens with information and decisions through digital platforms.

Farah made her official debut in a promotional video filmed at the Prime Minister's courtyard, where she introduced herself as the digital spokesperson and described the project as a pioneering step in the region and globally. This virtual spokesperson communicates in a simplified Jordanian dialect and will engage with the public on social media platforms and via WhatsApp. Farah's objective is to convey government information in a clear, transparent, and straightforward manner.

Farah will disseminate updates on projects under the Economic Modernization Vision, as well as developments and government initiatives in the health, education, and infrastructure sectors. Moreover, the digital character will relay and clarify Cabinet decisions, as part of the government's commitment to providing official information swiftly and accessibly.

Mohammad Al-Momani, the government spokesperson and Minister of Communication, stated that the launch of digital spokesperson Farah is part of the government's endeavor to harness digital technology and artificial intelligence in communication, explaining government decisions and policies, and making information readily available.

Al-Momani emphasized that Farah will serve as one of the government's digital communication tools, aimed at delivering information to citizens and interested parties.
