Joe Nuxhall memorial golf outing draws big names

The 41st annual Joe Nuxhall memorial golf outing drew a star-studded crowd, featuring 36 foursomes and notable personalities who shared fond memories of the late Reds legend. Among the attendees were Marty Brennaman, Reds on Radio partner; Andrew Abbott, Reds pitcher; Billy Hatcher, former Reds coach; Scott Williamson, former National League Rookie of the Year; Doug Flynn, former Reds player; Dave Miley, former Reds manager; Jim Tracy, former MLB manager and Hamilton Badin High School standout; Tommy Thrall, Reds play-by-play announcer; and Joe Zerhusen, Reds public address announcer.

The event, organized by Playground Equipment Services, aimed to honor Nuxhall's legacy and support students in Butler County. Since its inception, the golf outing has raised over $1 million in scholarship money for deserving student athletes. In a related event on September 4, at least 36 individuals will participate in a 21-mile walk from Groh Lane Miracle League fields to Great American Ball Park, raising funds and awareness for the Joe Nuxhall Foundation.
