I went eyes-on with Lenovo’s new 27-inch 4K OLED monitor — and now I want it for work

During the IFA 2026 event, Lenovo unveiled its first 27-inch 4K OLED Thunderbolt docking monitor designed for productivity called the ThinkVision P27UL-40. This sleek monitor, with its OLED panel, offers excellent contrast and vibrant colors that pop out. Its slim design includes a stand with a cutaway for your phone, and it connects via Thunderbolt to a Lenovo laptop for synchronized brightness controls and power button mirroring.

The 3840 x 2160 resolution display provides a 16:9 aspect ratio and supports 60-120Hz refresh rates. Using OLED technology, the monitor covers 99% of the DCI-P3 and 100% sRGB color spaces, aiming for 500 nits of HDR brightness. While OLED monitors are typically gaming devices, Lenovo has incorporated some gaming monitor features into the ThinkVision P27UL-40, resulting in a monitor that delivers exceptional image quality for both work and play.

The monitor's stand features a swivel mechanism for easy rotation, and there are cutaways for cable management and phone placement. The built-in Thunderbolt hub allows for simultaneous video, data, and power transmission. Although the price of $1,299 is relatively high, the monitor's advanced features and image quality make it an appealing option for those looking for a high-end work monitor.
