Ho Central MP supports JHS graduates with learning materials

In Ho Central, the Member of Parliament, Mr Richmond Edem Kpotosu, presented essential items to 254 Junior High School graduates. These materials included mattresses, rubber boxes, and learning resources, aimed at facilitating their transition to secondary school education. The MP's initiative is part of his broader development strategy to promote education within the constituency.

The distribution will occur in stages, and Kpotosu emphasized the importance of education for national progress, urging the graduates to capitalize on the opportunities available to them.

He highlighted the significance of technical and vocational education, stating that it is crucial for the nation's development. Kpotosu unveiled additional skill training programs that he initiated, designed to equip young individuals with skills that are valuable in the job market. He appealed to parents to foster their children's participation in technical and vocational training, which he believes can help alleviate unemployment issues in the country.

Dr Esther Yeboah-Adzimah, the Ho Municipal Director of Education, applauded the MP for his support towards the JHS graduates. She acknowledged that this support signifies a new phase in their lives, as secondary education will prepare them for future challenges with greater confidence. However, she cautioned the graduates against drug and substance abuse, theft, and early sexual activity, warning that these habits could thwart their aspirations to become responsible adults.

Dr Yeboah-Adzimah introduced a program called "Grooming for Final-Year JHS Students," aimed at equipping students to excel in their examinations and handle the challenges of secondary school effectively. She urged parents to seek guidance from the Municipal Directorate of Education on any issues they might face and stressed the importance of continuing parental support for their children's education.

While the Free Senior High School policy covers many needs, Dr Yeboah-Adzimah noted that parents still bear the responsibility of providing for their children's additional requirements.

She urged the graduates to work diligently during their secondary education, ensuring they fully benefit from the government's and their parents' investments in their future. The director emphasized that their commitment to education would enable them to become responsible citizens and agents of change within their communities.
