Hamidin tak tanding, Ab Ghani dan Shahril rebut presiden FAM

Presiden MFL Ab Ghani Hassan and Vice President FAS Shahril Mokhtar announced their candidacy for the FAM presidency during the upcoming September 17 election, according to the wire report from Kuala Lumpur. However, FAM President Hamidin Amin's name was not listed as a candidate for the top position in the organization's 2025-2029 executive committee term, which is scheduled to take place on September 17.

This absence seems to have put an end to speculation about Hamidin's potential return for the presidency, following his nomination as FAM Honorary President in June of the previous year. The FAM announced their list of candidates, with Vice President I being contested among Rosmadi Ismail, Mohd Firdaus Mohamed, and Syed Yazid Syed Omar.

For Vice President III, Saaran Nadarajah faces off against Afizal Abu Othman. A total of seven candidates are competing for three executive category FA seats, while five contestants fight for two club (FC) category positions. FAM Secretary-General Abdullah Mohamad Said stated that all nominations have undergone scrutiny and validation in accordance with FAM statutes, regulations, and established procedures.
