GTA teams up with QFBA, QU to advance tax specialist programme

The General Tax Authority (GTA) has entered into two Memorandums of Cooperation with Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) and Qatar University (QU). This strategic partnership aims to bolster the Tax Specialist certificate program, which is designed to improve personnel readiness to adapt to evolving tax system developments.

Dr. Khalifa Al Salahi Al Yafei, President of GTA, signed the agreement with QFBA. Similarly, Ghanim bin Khalifa Al Attiyah, Assistant President of GTA for Tax Affairs, and Professor Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Al Kaabi, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at QU, signed the partnership with the university.

The collaboration intends to expand partnership opportunities and promote knowledge exchange between GTA and academic/professional institutions. It also aims to utilize their collective capabilities to enhance professional qualifications in tax-related fields, ultimately cultivating a qualified local workforce to meet labor market demands and drive economic growth.

These alliances will allow participating entities to take advantage of the Tax Specialist Certificate program, enhance its delivery, and further its development. This, in turn, will support the qualification and certification of tax specialists, enabling them to provide services and advisory support in line with approved regulations, rules, and instructions. The program will also aim to elevate the quality of professional practices, promote efficiency, transparency, and compliance in services rendered to taxpayers.

The General Tax Authority emphasized that establishing sustainable partnerships with educational and professional institutions is a crucial pillar in advancing professional qualification and development.
