Grenergy finalises $475m sale of Gabriela energy project to CVC DIF

CVC DIF has finalized the acquisition of the Gabriela energy project, a hybrid solar and battery storage facility located in northern Chile, from Spanish energy company Grenergy for a sum of $475 million. The project consists of 272MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity and 1.1GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS). The transaction, initially announced in September 2025, became effective once the Gabriela facility became operational.

Gabriela is protected by a 15-year, US-dollar-denominated, inflation-indexed power purchase agreement (PPA). The project's construction was funded through a $324 million green loan secured from a consortium of international banks. Grenergy will continue to offer operation and maintenance services for Gabriela for a period of five years post-acquisition.

Grenergy's CEO, David Ruiz de Andrés, expressed satisfaction with the completed transaction and Grenergy's commitment to future projects. This acquisition is a part of Grenergy's asset rotation strategy, aimed at generating €800 million in revenue through asset sales during the period of 2026-28.
