Gemini Spark rolling out Google Photos control for automated editing, sharing, & more

Gemini Spark is set to introduce Google Photos control, offering users automated editing, sharing, and other features for their photo library. This new capability allows Gemini Spark, a personal agent, to manage complex, multi-stage workflows with Google Photos. Users can pair Google Photos-specific features with Spark's scheduling and library management capabilities, enabling tasks like automatically building collages of their top food photos every weekend and adding them to a new album titled ‘What my camera ate this week’.

Additionally, Gemini Spark can cross-reference images with other Connected Apps, such as Gmail and Google Workspace. For instance, users can check a photo of a local summer concert series and see if they are available on a specific night by cross-referencing with their Google Calendar. Safety measures are in place, with Gemini Spark creating image copies before editing and new albums being private by default.

The system will request permission before sharing albums or sending emails. This rollout is expected to begin in the coming weeks for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the US.
