Ganeshotsav 2026: KDMC, Police Hold Coordination Meet In Kalyan As 600 Citizens Raise Festival Issues

Kalyan, September 3, 2026 - As Ganeshotsav 2026 approaches, local authorities have convened a crucial coordination meeting to ensure a seamless celebration. The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) and police department gathered with approximately 550-600 citizens, including Ganesh mandal representatives, police officers, and representatives from Shanti Mohalla and Mahila Dakshata Committees, at Acharya Atre Rangmandir in Kalyan West on Wednesday.

Joint Efforts The gathering, organized jointly by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 3, Kalyan, and KDMC, centered on addressing ground-level concerns of the mandals and enhancing cooperation between civic authorities, police, and residents ahead of the festival. The meeting commenced at 5 pm with a Ganesh idol worship ritual and concluded at 8.05 pm.

Cyber Awareness The program featured a special cyber awareness session to educate citizens and organizers about cybercrime risks and preventive measures. Additionally, a brief film was shown to highlight the adverse effects of noise pollution. KDMC One Window Scheme The meeting underscored the importance of the KDMC's One Window Scheme software, which simplifies permissions and administrative procedures for Ganeshotsav organizers.

KDMC officials detailed the application process and system functionality to the mandals present. Event Challenges During the interactive session, mandals and citizens raised concerns regarding festival permissions, security, traffic management, noise pollution, and various civic matters. Officials assured the attendees that their grievances would be addressed and resolved at the appropriate levels.

They emphasized the necessity of close collaboration between mandals, police, and the civic administration throughout the festival.
