Former bureaucrat Ashish Joshi questioned by Delhi Police for 9 hours

In the Delhi Cantonment area on Wednesday evening, two individuals aged between 45-50 years lost their lives when their motorcycle was allegedly struck from behind by a Mahindra Thar, according to police. The tragic incident occurred around 5pm near the Indian Oil Corporation red light, where the two, a man and a woman, were returning home to Sector 1, Dwarka after concluding their duties with the New Delhi Municipal Council at Lodhi Road.

A staff member from the Delhi Cantt police station, who was also returning from duty, witnessed the accident and immediately notified the police station. Subsequently, a police team arrived at the scene and found the two injured individuals, who were subsequently rushed to a hospital. Tragically, both were pronounced dead upon arrival.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle had likely skidded on the road, causing the Thar, which was traveling behind, to collide with it. The Thar driver, identified as 26-year-old Bhupendra from Jhajjar, Haryana, was arrested in connection with the case. Bhupendra owns a milk booth in Rohini. A case has been registered under sections 281 and 106(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Delhi Cantt police station.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination, and further investigation is underway to determine the exact sequence of events.
