Estonian defence minister resigns in €70m EU-funded procurement scandal for Ukraine

Indian Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar announced that he has extended an invitation to Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sybiha to visit India. The purpose of Sybiha's visit would be to participate in a joint meeting of the intergovernmental economic commission, with the aim of strengthening bilateral trade relations between the two nations. Jaishankar made the announcement during a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.

The Indian Foreign Minister emphasized that trade between India and Ukraine encompasses a broad spectrum of sectors, including pharmaceuticals, food industry, agriculture, fertilizers, engineering, chemicals, and consumer goods. He acknowledged that trade ties have faced disruptions over the past four years due to the ongoing war situation and logistical challenges. However, he pointed out that there has been a notable display of resilience and the emergence of new opportunities during this time.

Jaishankar highlighted the deep strengths and capabilities of both Ukraine and India, asserting that while India is experiencing rapid development, Ukraine also possesses significant potential. The Indian Foreign Minister expressed his hope that Sybiha's visit would facilitate further discussions and collaborations to bolster the bilateral economic partnership between the two countries.
