DBATU Faculty Recruitment To Be Completed In 3 Months: Chandrakant Patil

Mumbai: Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil announced on Thursday that the recruitment process for vacant faculty positions at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University (DBATU), Lonere, will be finished in three months. Patil assured that the state government is taking necessary steps to prevent students from facing academic setbacks due to delays in examination results and other administrative matters.

He pledged to address major issues concerning the university and its students by December during the 28th convocation ceremony of DBATU, attended by Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, senior officials, and university representatives. Patil pledged that visible improvements in the university's operations would be observed after December.

He also expressed confidence that students would not have to transfer to other universities due to administrative challenges. Patil emphasized the government's commitment to digital administration, highlighting the university's move towards fully online admission and examination processes. He stressed that digital technology should enhance students' overall academic experience, not merely serve as a convenience.

Describing education as a powerful instrument of social transformation, Patil noted that DBATU's proximity to the historic Raigad Fort and its connection to the Mahad Satyagraha gave the institution unique significance. The government is also contemplating a special support scheme for daughters of single mothers pursuing higher education in Maharashtra's universities and colleges, Patil revealed.

The Higher and Technical Education Department would first gather data on such students and determine their numbers before discussing the scheme at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Patil also announced the completion of a Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue on the DBATU campus, which will be inaugurated soon by the Chief Minister.
