ChatGPT, Claude, Grok down? Top 3 AI alternatives you can use amid global outages

Downdetector has reported a significant number of issues with major generative AI platforms such as OpenAI's ChatGPT, Anthropic's Claude, and X's Grok. Users worldwide have been experiencing problems with these AI tools, either facing complete unavailability or very slow responses. As a result, some users are seeking alternative AI tools to continue their work.

According to Downdetector data, as of 8:20 pm, there were over 2,800 reports of issues with ChatGPT in India alone, 170 reports involving Claude, and more than 40 reports concerning Grok. In the US, there were over 35,000 reports of ChatGPT issues, 1,400 reports involving Claude, and over 1,200 reports concerning Grok.

OpenAI acknowledged the problem, stating that they were investigating the issue across ChatGPT and Codex. Similarly, Anthropic identified the cause of elevated errors affecting requests to Claude Mythos 5.1, Claude Fable 5.1, and Claude Opus 5, and is working on a fix. X's Grok AI chatbot also confirmed it is experiencing issues.

These AI platforms are widely used globally for various tasks, including writing, coding, research, and content creation. The outages have disrupted users who rely on these platforms for their daily tasks. Despite these disruptions, alternative AI tools are still functioning properly, providing users with options to continue their work.
