Brewers’ Jacob Misiorowski matches career worsts in runs allowed and walks in rough start vs. Cubs

In a recent game, Milwaukee Brewers' starting pitcher Jacob Misiorowski recorded his worst performance of the season, allowing five runs and five hits in four innings against the Chicago Cubs. Despite the challenge of hot and humid conditions, Milwaukee secured a 9-5 victory at Wrigley Field. Manager Pat Murphy acknowledged Misiorowski's struggles, noting that he struggled with his fastball and had difficulty staying on the mound.

Misiorowski struck out five and walked four in his 26th start of the season, marking his 40th career start. His career highs of five earned runs and four walks were matched in this performance. Misiorowski, a 6-foot-7 right-hander, had thrown three earned runs or fewer in his first 25 starts this year, making him a leading contender for the NL Cy Young Award.

However, his ERA increased to 1.97, the highest in the majors, and he now has 227 strikeouts in 155 innings in his second major league season. Misiorowski attributed his difficulties to the soft mound, mentioning that it made it challenging to maintain his grip and control.
