Anwar: Indian community will not be sidelined

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim pledged to expand funding opportunities for Indian entrepreneurs and bolster the Malaysian Indian Community Transformation Unit (Mitra). The government will also bolster entrepreneurship and technical and vocational education and training (TVET) programs, along with increasing youth development via mentor-mentee initiatives.

Various initiatives have been implemented in education, entrepreneurship, microfinancing, welfare, and cash assistance to alleviate family burdens and boost living standards. During a series of meetings with Indian community leaders, he reiterated that the Indian community will never be marginalized. The Madani government intends to broaden financing access for entrepreneurs, enhance Mitra, improve entrepreneurship and TVET training, and create more youth development opportunities through mentor-mentee programs.

Anwar urged relevant ministries and agencies to enhance coordination and service delivery to ensure every allocation and policy reaches its target recipients and delivers tangible benefits to their lives. He stressed the need to address existing gaps, especially concerning poverty, citizenship, and assistance access promptly and effectively.
