Angels’ Outfield Depth in Trouble After Josh Lowe Injury Scratch

The Los Angeles Angels have been left with a concerning shortage of outfielders following the injury scratch of Josh Lowe, who was sidelined with neck stiffness for Wednesday's game against the New York Yankees. The Angels currently field only four outfielders on their active roster, with Lowe among them. Wade Meckler is set to assume the right field position to replace Lowe, while Jose Siri starts in left field.

Lowe, an offseason acquisition from the Tampa Bay Rays, has been with the Angels throughout the season, aside from a month-long stint in Triple-A. The 28-year-old outfielder has hit 10 home runs and driven in 27 runs in 95 games this season, boasting a .625 OPS, which would be the lowest of his career if sustained. Lowe's best performance came after his recall from Triple-A in June, where he went 8-for-18 in six games, posting an OPS above 1.000.

Aside from Lowe, Siri, Meckler, and Trout, the Angels have Kyren Paris, Christian Moore, and Adam Frazier as potential outfield replacements, though the team's outfield depth remains a significant concern heading into the offseason.
