Alcaraz 'stays calm' in US Open fightback

Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz fought back from a set down to reach the fourth round of the US Open, defeating Portugal's Jaime Faria 4-6, 6-0, 6-3, 6-2 in the New York night session. The 23-year-old Spaniard, who recently completed a career Grand Slam with his Australian Open title, needed time to find his rhythm but quickly asserted his authority in the match.

Alcaraz's pivotal moment came when he fought off two break points in the second set, allowing him to take control. The seven-time Grand Slam champion acknowledged the match was tough and that he felt great in the first set but didn't take enough time. Alcaraz stated that he is playing "normal" and not holding back on his forehand, emphasizing that he has to feel like he was before his wrist injury.

With the draw appearing wide open, Alcaraz might have a better chance of winning the tournament if he can overcome China's Wu Yibing in the next round.
