Women's Champions Trophy 2027: Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium, Vadodara To Host As India Takes Over Rights From Sri Lanka

The ICC has announced that the inaugural Women’s Champions Trophy 2027 will be held in Mumbai and Vadodara, India from February 14-28. The tournament will feature six top women's cricket teams - Australia, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka. These teams, who qualified based on their ICC Women’s T20I Team Rankings as of July 6, will compete in a round-robin format, with the top two advancing to the final on February 28.

Originally set to take place in Sri Lanka, the championship has been moved to India due to ongoing reforms by Sri Lanka Cricket. The ICC evaluated potential hosts Bangladesh, India, and South Africa, recommending India as the new host after a favorable evaluation, a decision approved by the ICC Board on September 2. ICC Chairman Jay Shah expressed excitement about the tournament, stating it marks a new chapter for women's cricket, bringing together the world's best teams for an intense and high-quality competition.

He emphasized the opportunity to build momentum, provide consistency, and strengthen the global women's cricket landscape with an annual marquee event.
