What to know about a reported US airstrike that hit a wedding in Iran

On Tuesday, a U.S. missile struck a wedding in the southern Iranian coastal town of Kuhestak, killing four people and wounding over 60 others, according to Iranian state media and a rights group. The victims included two women, two children, and one teenager killed by a separate strike on a communications tower nearby. The missile destroyed the home of Ali Mallahi, a local fisherman, and his daughter's wedding celebrations.

The town, located about 30 kilometers from Minab, where over 100 children were killed in a U.S.-led strike on the first day of the conflict, has been a frequent target in recent U.S. bombardments. U.S. Central Command is investigating the reports, but little information is available from the remote area.
