Vikings agree to sign veteran edge rusher Kyle Van Noy for needed depth, AP source says

The Minnesota Vikings have finalized a deal to sign 13-year veteran outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy, according to a person with knowledge of the contract. The 35-year-old free agent, who has played the past three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, joins the Vikings to bolster their edge rusher position and provide additional depth.

The Vikings currently have Andrew Van Ginkel and Dallas Turner as their main starters at the position, but the rest of the depth chart is largely unproven. Jonathan Greenard was traded to Philadelphia Eagles in April while Tyler Batty suffered a season-ending knee injury during the final exhibition game. Bo Richter and Chaz Chambliss are the top two backups on the roster, with rookie Jake Golday also showing promise in the role.

Van Noy, who earned his first Pro Bowl selection in 2024 with 12 1/2 sacks, joins his fifth team in seven years. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the second round in 2014 and played for the New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, and Los Angeles Chargers before signing with the Vikings.
