USDT, MoPH Sign MoU Enhancing Cooperation in Research, Education, Community Services

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in research, education, and community services. The agreement, signed by MoPH Director Sheikh Dr. Mohamed bin Hamad Al-Thani and UDST President Dr. Salem bin Nasser Al Naemi, aims to strengthen coordination between the two entities in providing educational opportunities for UDST students from various colleges.

The MoU involves designing and developing postgraduate degree programs, offering practical training and teaching opportunities, supporting graduation projects in health-related fields, and implementing continuing education programs in multiple disciplines. These areas include business administration, health sciences, engineering, technology, and computing and information technology.

Sheikh Dr. Al-Thani emphasized that the partnership will leverage the expertise of both parties to deliver high-quality opportunities for students and staff, while strengthening applied research aligned with national health needs. UDST President Dr. Al Naemi highlighted that the MoU is the result of years of collaboration, focusing on education and training, particularly the Executive Master of Science in Health Administration and Master of Science in Midwifery programs.

The MoU is timely, as it aligns with Qatar’s National Health Strategy 2024-2030, which seeks to improve the healthcare system's quality and efficiency. The agreement will support this strategy by preparing qualified professionals to meet the health sector's needs, creating academic and professional programs that respond to future demands, and enhancing applied research and innovation.
