US, India Working Towards Fair Trade Deal, Says Ambassador Sergio Gor

US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor addressed the 66th Annual Session of the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) on Wednesday, emphasizing that the United States and India are collaborating to enhance their trade ties and foster a partnership based on fairness, reciprocity, and mutual benefits. Gor stated that both governments are actively involved in discussions aimed at expanding economic cooperation.

Highlighting progress in trade-related matters, Gor indicated that further dialogue between the two nations would continue. He also mentioned that Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is set to visit the United States later in the month as part of ongoing engagements.

Gor underlined that cooperation between the United States and India extends beyond mere merchandise trade, encompassing several areas of strategic importance, such as innovation and cross-border investment. He referred to the Pact Silica declaration, which was signed earlier this year, as a significant step toward creating a more innovation-friendly regulatory environment for American and Indian companies.

This initiative aims to facilitate easier cross-border investment and support entrepreneurs and businesses in both countries.

According to Gor, the partnership between the United States and India continues to expand across multiple sectors, with both nations striving for deeper economic and strategic cooperation. These remarks come as both countries work to strengthen trade relations and address areas of mutual interest, such as market access, investment, and technology cooperation.
