UNIMED Appoints Vincent Ojo as Fourth Substantive Registrar

UNIMED, the University of Medical Sciences located in Ondo, has appointed Mr. Vincent Ojo as their fourth substantive Registrar. This decision was made during an extra-ordinary council meeting held on April 15, 2026. Ojo's appointment, which will last for a non-renewable period of five years, began on August 3, 2026. He officially commenced his role on September 1, 2026, bringing with him an extensive background in university administration, human resource management, and institutional development.

Ojo's career has been dedicated to the Nigerian university system, with over 20 years of experience in various capacities. Prior to his appointment at UNIMED, Ojo served as Senior Deputy Registrar and Head of the Human Resource Division at the Federal University of Lokoja in Kogi State. He also held a position at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, where he further honed his skills in university administration.

Ojo's educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Ado-Ekiti (now Ekiti State University) in 2000, and a Master's degree in Leadership and Strategic Studies from the Federal University of Lokoja in 2024.

Ojo's extensive experience and professional affiliations have been instrumental in his rise to this position. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Administration and a fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration, among other esteemed bodies. His portfolio includes a strong track record of strategic leadership, innovative administrative practices, effective human resource management, and operational excellence.

The appointment of Ojo is anticipated to significantly enhance UNIMED's administrative framework, enabling the university to continue its mission as a leading institution in medical and health sciences education, research, and innovation.
