Un informe asegura que Marruecos facilitó la entrada de inmigrantes en Ceuta y Marlaska pide explicaciones al director de la Policía

Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska has urged Police General Francisco Pardo to verify swiftly an intelligence report attributing the massive influx of migrants into Ceuta on July 30th and 31st to Moroccan security forces. Grande-Marlaska sent a letter to Pardo demanding information on the report's credibility, submitted to the National Audit Court (Audiencia Nacional).

The report, according to El Pais, claims Moroccan gendarmes facilitated the entry, following orders from Spanish agents, for purposes other than migration. If true, Grande-Marlask requests clarification from Pardo on when the National Police became aware of this investigation. The Interior Minister believes it is essential to know this information for the government to make timely decisions regarding the Ceuta migration crisis, in the exercise of its constitutional duties for domestic and foreign policy and national defense.

Grande-Marlaska reminded the Police General that, since the situation of national security concern was declared by the government on August 25th, such information should have been immediately available to members of the National Security Council, the top authority led by Interior Minister Angel Victor Torres, and other organs with relevant competencies.

Both the Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and the Interior Minister have disassociated Morocco from the Ceuta crisis, linking it to social media rumors after a Supreme Court ruling preventing the return of migrants who entered Spain by boat. They also stated no intelligence services received any alert about the massive influx into Ceuta at the end of July, receiving only routine situation reports.
