In the new installment, Ron and Hermione are married and have a daughter who attends Hogwarts. He is the sole main character from the films to return to his original role, while Tom Felton is reprising his portrayal of Draco Malfoy.

Grint, who originated the role of Ron Weasley at the age of 11, has since appeared in various TV shows and Broadway productions. The producers of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child praised Grint's dedication to the character, noting that his performances have defined the concept of loyalty and bravery in the face of adversity.
