Tinubu mourns Emir of Zurmi

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his deep sorrow over the passing of the Emir of Zurmi, His Royal Highness Alhaji Bello Sulaiman. The Emir had been reigning for five years before his death on Monday. In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu conveyed his condolences to the deceased monarch's family, the Zurmi Emirate Council, the Zamfara State Government, and the broader public.

The President highlighted Sulaiman's esteemed status as a monarch who guided his people with wisdom, dignity, and unwavering commitment during a difficult era. He emphasized Sulaiman's courage and leadership in navigating security challenges while fostering peace, unity, and resilience among the Zurmi Emirate's inhabitants. The statement quoted Tinubu as saying, "His Royal Highness was a stabilising figure whose wise counsel and dedication to peace-building were invaluable not only to Zurmi Emirate but to Zamfara State and our nation’s efforts to restore lasting peace in the North-West."

The President sought forgiveness from Almighty Allah for any shortcomings the late monarch may have had, and prayed for his soul to attain Aljannah Firdaus. He also extended prayers for comfort and strength to Sulaiman's family, the emirate, and all those mourning the loss of the respected traditional ruler.
