Tiger Woods enters plea agreement to reckless driving charge over rollover crash in Florida

Stuart, Florida (AP) — In a plea agreement reached Wednesday, golf icon Tiger Woods admitted to a reckless driving charge following a rollover crash in March near his Jupiter Island residence. Woods, 50, was previously charged with driving under the influence but later changed his plea. The accident occurred when his SUV struck a truck and overturned on a beachside road.

Deputies discovered two pain pills in his possession and noted signs of impairment during the incident. Although Woods failed a Breathalyzer test, he declined a urine test. Neither Woods nor the other vehicle involved sustained injuries, but the crash resulted in $5,000 worth of damage to the truck. Woods, a highly influential figure in golf, has faced multiple back and knee surgeries, crashes, and dependency on pain medication.

He has been entangled in four accidents throughout his career. Following the 2009 crash and the recent one, Woods took leaves from the golf tour but has yet to return to competitive play.
