The mystery of Port Store, the Japanese convenience store that looks like a Lawson rip-off

At first glance, the Japanese convenience store known as Port Store bears a striking resemblance to Lawson, a well-known chain in the country. Lawson is easily identified by its blue, white, and pink stripes, along with a distinctive milk can logo. However, reporter Sato discovered this peculiar store in Aomi, near Tokyo's Odaiba district, and was taken aback by its uncanny resemblance to Lawson.

From afar, Port Store appears to be just another Lawson outlet. As one approaches the store, however, it becomes clear that there is something unusual about it. Instead of the familiar Lawson name, "Port Store" is written on the sign. Even the iconic milk can logo bears the same branding.

This peculiar sight can only be described as a parallel universe scenario, given that convenience stores in Japan are fiercely protective of their trademarks. It is highly unlikely that a store like this would be allowed to mimic Lawson's branding in reality. Yet, here it is, existing as if it belongs in an anime or video game, making it nearly impossible to distinguish from a genuine Lawson store.
