SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav Raises Questions Over Past Irregularities As Ram Temple Trust Appoints Full-Time CEO

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav expressed skepticism on Wednesday about the appointment of a full-time CEO for the Ram temple, questioning whether the past issues could be dismissed. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust selected former Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra as the temple's inaugural full-time CEO during a meeting in Ayodhya.

Yadav responded, "Will new things make us forget the old things? We have no complaint against anyone. But the way donations were stolen, you allowed big names to go free. We hope there won't be any more theft of 'Ram dhan' or funds donated to the temple." He also criticized the BJP government for the development of Ayodhya, stating that it should have been transformed into a world-class urban center while safeguarding the rights of its residents.

Yadav alleged that land-related irregularities had occurred in Ayodhya under the pretext of development, and that the city's residents had not been adequately compensated for land acquired or impacted by development projects. He emphasized that the city's development should not come at the expense of injustice to the poor residents.

The SP president also highlighted that the BJP had allowed greed to influence land deals and decisions related to Ayodhya's development.
