Samsung’s latest Galaxy Book 6 starts at $799 with 8GB of RAM

Samsung has introduced a more budget-friendly laptop in their Galaxy Book 6 series, priced starting at $799. This latest addition is a mid-range variant, with certain specifications downgraded to achieve a lower cost. The current entry-level option boasts a 14-inch (IPS) display, 512GB storage, 16GB RAM, and an Intel Core Ultra 5 processor.

In contrast, the new model takes significant steps back, offering reduced specifications at a more affordable price. While the previous Galaxy Book 6 began at $1,249 in the US, the new release will launch at $799, which is $100 pricier than the MacBook Neo. Weighing in at 15.7mm thin and weighing approximately 3lbs, the laptop features a 61.2Wh battery, with Samsung claiming a battery life of up to 25 hours.

The device comes equipped with a 45W USB-C charger. It sports two USB-C ports, a USB-A port, an HDMI port, and a headphone/microphone jack. Additionally, Samsung has introduced a new "Violet Silver" color option alongside the standard grey. The laptop operates on Windows 11, incorporating Samsung's customary collection of integrated apps, which include numerous integrations with Galaxy smartphones.

While Samsung has made the new Galaxy Book 6 available in select markets, the device has not yet hit the US market. It will be accessible on Samsung.com and Amazon in the United States starting October 5.
