Samsung's $799 Galaxy Book6 challenges the MacBook Neo with a larger screen and claimed 25-hour battery life

Samsung unveils the Galaxy Book6, a 14-inch Windows laptop priced at $799, targeting the lower-cost laptop market. Built on Intel's Wildcat Lake processors, the device caters to everyday tasks such as work, study, web browsing, and streaming, positioning it against Apple's MacBook Neo. While Samsung's laptop starts at a higher price than the Neo, it boasts a larger display, more built-in ports, and an impressive claimed battery life of up to 25 hours, powered by a 61.2Wh battery.

In contrast, Apple's MacBook Neo offers a sharper and brighter display with a 16-hour battery life rating. The Galaxy Book6 features a 14-inch display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 and a peak brightness of 350 nits, while the Neo boasts a 2,408 x 1,506 display with 500 nits brightness. However, Samsung's laptop offers a more versatile port selection, including two USB-C ports, a USB-A port, HDMI, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Both laptops come equipped with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and stereo speakers supporting Dolby Atmos. The Book6 measures 15.7mm thick and weighs 1.35kg, placing it in the portable 14-inch laptop range. Samsung plans to launch the Book6 in select markets before expanding availability, hoping the combination of Wildcat Lake processors and extended battery life will resonate with consumers.
