Rangers target winning start in CAFCL

Enugu Rangers aim to secure a winning start in the CAF Champions League as they face AS Sobemap of Porto-Novo in the opening leg of their preliminary round clash on Sunday. The match will take place at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta, giving the nine-time Nigeria Premier Football League champions an opportunity to build an advantage ahead of the return leg in Porto-Novo.

Rangers chairman Amobi Ezeaku emphasized the importance of the team's mentality, stating that they are prepared to fight until the final whistle. Ezeaku pointed to the team's dramatic draw against Katsina United, where they secured a late equaliser, as evidence of their strong mentality. Enugu Rangers assistant coach and head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, reaffirmed his team's focus on the continental assignment and their determination to rectify missed chances from the league opener.

Ezeaku further encouraged Rangers supporters to attend the match in large numbers, emphasizing that the club remains committed to its domestic ambitions despite the continental focus.
