Ravens GM says team is still waiting on NFL investigation of Rashod Bateman’s arrest

Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta stated that the team is still awaiting the NFL's investigation into receiver Rashod Bateman's arrest earlier in the offseason. Bateman was arrested in June in Georgia on charges of family violence battery, reckless conduct, and criminal damage to property. The Ravens' GM expressed disappointment about the situation and noted that they immediately informed the league about Bateman's arrest, who is currently conducting an investigation.

DeCosta spoke with reporters on Wednesday, the customary time before the start of the NFL season. Besides Bateman's legal troubles, the team addressed their kicking situation by adding Jake Moody to the practice squad, potentially replacing Tyler Loop, who struggled with field goals during the preseason. DeCosta expressed optimism about negotiating a new contract with quarterback Lamar Jackson, who's contract remains under restructuring.

Defensive lineman Nnamdi Madubuike, who missed much of last season due to a neck injury, is expected to return to the team in the first four weeks of the upcoming season.
