Private or Govt Schools: Who Dominated Gujranwala Board’s 9th Class Results?

The BISE Gujranwala 9th Class Result 2026 revealed a significant disparity between private and non-government institutions and government schools. Private and non-government institutions achieved a pass rate of 69.71%, while government schools had a lower pass rate of 39.59%. This 30.12 percentage point difference highlighted the superior performance of private institutions.

Government schools had approximately 45,900 more candidates appear for the exams compared to private/non-government institutions. However, private institutions still produced around 2,500 more successful students. Nearly 70% of non-government students passed, while only fewer than 40% of government school students passed.

The analysis covered all six districts under BISE Gujranwala - Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Narowal, and Sialkot. Private and non-government institutions consistently outperformed government schools in every district. The largest difference, 33.74 percentage points, was observed in Hafizabad, where private institutions led with a pass rate of 77.92%, compared to government schools' 44.18%.

Among government schools, Gujrat had the highest pass rate at 46.23%, while Narowal had the lowest at 32.48%. The overall BISE Gujranwala pass percentage was 46.51%. Female candidates outperformed male candidates, with a 54.14% pass rate versus a 36.55% pass rate for males.

The figures suggest that private and non-government institutions generally have an advantage over government schools in terms of student performance. However, the gazette analysis does not delve into the reasons behind this discrepancy, which could be influenced by factors like school location, student intake, attendance, resources, and the number of candidates enrolled.
